National Science week 2024
“Living in a high-tech world: should we be concerned?"
The Centre for HRTEM will participate in the National Science Week 2024 activities by opening up the high-tech facility to the public for an informative tour of the role of advanced electron microscopy in society.
The tours will be held between 3 - 4 October and will include the following
- Discussion and overview of the importance of electron microscopy in society by Prof Jaco Olivier, Director of the CHRTEM
- Guided tour of the facility by CHRTEM scientists
- Interactive live demonstration using the scanning electron microscope at the CHRTEM
The tour will be 1.5 to 2 hrs long and appeal to the general public.
Numbers will be limited to 30 people per tour
